You are Not Alone: Fall 2023 Letter from The Director

Dear ETCG Partners,

Happy Fall from ETCG! As the Director of Operations and Marketing, I am excited to share with you the resources we plan to offer this Fall, centered on one important theme: "You Are Not Alone." As East Texas Counseling Group nears it’s three-year anniversary in January, I want to use this semester to shed light on the many way’s we have partnered with East Texas since the birth of our counseling center. Our upcoming social media series will delve into all of the ways we partner with individuals, families, and the community to enhance our collective strength, while fostering a sense of support.

Partnering with Individuals and Families - Your Unique Journey

Our clients are the heart of everything we do. Life can be fraught with challenges, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed and isolated. However, we firmly believe in the spirit of resilience and the power of human connection. We embrace the belief that counseling is a collaborative endeavor by treating each person as an active participant in their own healing process. It is our commitment to provide a safe space where individuals can explore their feelings, thoughts, and emotions without judgment.

Our dedicated team of counselors works closely with individuals, attentively listening to their stories and helping them gain insights into their emotions. Over the next few months, our social media will continue to be a place for our counselors to share insights from the counseling field through posting blog articles and video’s directing you to our most frequently used resources.

Social Support and Community Engagement

We at ETCG recognize that support networks extend far beyond the individual. So, we actively seek partnerships with community organizations, schools, and local businesses to provide a comprehensive support system to our clients. By engaging with community resources, we aim to bridge the gap between professional counseling and the wider community.

This semester, we will highlight the community partnerships we have already developed at ETCG. We will also have several staff members with boots on the ground across ETX. We are coming to you! In addition to already scheduled speaking engagements and classes, we have equipped several staff members to visit your organizations to make connections and provide resources. If you would like a visit from a staff member to your facility, or a meeting with me to explore partnering with ETCG, please email me at megan@etxcounseling.com.

Redefining "Community"

We believe that community extends beyond geographic locations. Our social media platforms act as powerful tools to foster virtual communities, connecting individuals who may not have access to traditional support networks. Through thought-provoking content, we aim to empower our online community to engage in dialogue and find solace in knowing that they are truly never alone.

I am personally most excited for our newest social media series: Ask a Counselor Anything. Look for the first ACA later this week, and share your questions with us! We will use these questions to drive our content. We are here to partner with YOU!

As we embark on this heartfelt theme of "You Are Not Alone," we remain committed to partnering with individuals, families, and the ETX community to create an inclusive, supportive, and compassionate environment. We want to remind you that through collaboration and connection, we can build a community of strength and resilience. Remember, you are not alone – we are here for you, every step of the way.

With warmth and support,

Megan Korthals, LPC

ETCG Director of Operations and Marketing
