Dr. Skarda, MD
Dr. Cori Skarda is a Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician who is currently limiting her practice to Mental Health Care and weight management. She earned her MD at University of New Mexico School of Medicine and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at University of Texas at San Antonio.
Dr. Skarda is married, has two teenage children, enjoys yard work, sunshine, singing with her church, and spending time with family and friends.
Primary Care Mental Health Services
Primary Care Mental Health services are performed by a board certified physician, who is qualified to treat a wide range of mental health symptoms that are common to the primary care setting. Dr. Skarda has experience evaluating for underlying medical conditions that may contribute to mental health disorders. She treats anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, alcohol use disorder as well as other common mental health issues. Additional, Dr. Skarda provides weight management services.
Primary Care Mental Health Services may include:

Medications for mental health issues may be prescribed when indicated. Dr. Skarda will discuss options with the patient and prescribe medications if medically appropriate.

Labs and bloodwork may be ordered on patients when indicated. Dr. Skarda is contracted with Labcorp and Quest and uses their labs if she feels bloodwork is medically appropriate.
Weight Management Services may include:

Individual assessment and personalized goal-setting

Bloodwork and exam if needed

Realistic and holistic health strategies

Non-stimulant medications when indicated
Limitations:

Appointments are available for adults (age 18 and older). Appointments for children are not available at this time.

Controlled substances, such as Xanax or Adderall, are not prescribed.

Dr. Skarda does not treat bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.

New Patient Appointment with MD (45 min): $150
Patient Follow-up Appointment with MD (20 min): $50
